Algebra for All

Do you need to know enough algebra to pass, but not enough to build a rocketship in your backyard? If you said yes, these lessons are for you! So sit back and enjoy!

Terms and Expressions

By the end of the Terms and Expressions Playlist, you will be able to do most problems that say such anxiety-provoking words as:

  • Simplify
  • Distribute and combine like terms
  • Remove the parentheses by multiplying
  • BONUS: You’ll be MUCH more ready for the solving equations playlist!

Identifying Terms

Honestly, this lesson might seem silly. But, to be real, terms are probably the most important thing you’ll ever know about in Algebra. If you master them (and a few rules), you can pass any test. So let’s get started.

Lead Terms Are Important!

Remember, how important you felt when you got to be the line leader in elementary school? Just imagine how cool the lead term must be! Seriously though, watch this video. It has some important knowledge that you’re going to need

Moving Terms Around

Remember those term boxes we drew earlier? You’re allowed to move them around now! Huzzah! This silly little skill turns out to be a huge superpower later on, so learn it well.

Organizing Your Terms

You want to pass math? Stay organized, bruh! Just saying.

Adding and Subtracting in Algebra

Look at the title. You know it’s important, right?

Multiplying in Algebra

Jump on the snail. It’s faster then you think. Just like in that old movie, “The Never Ending Story.” You never heard of it? Ask your parents. Ask Peter Griffin. It was awesome.

Bringing It All Together!

You’re almost there! So throw on, “Come Together,” by the Beatles and groove out to some awesome tunes while you simplify some bodacious expressions.

You’ve reached the end! That means you’ll be mostly ok when you see some piece of cake directions like:

  • Simplify
  • Distribute and combine like terms
  • Remove the parentheses by multiplying
  • BONUS: You are now MUCH more ready for the solving equations playlist!
Note:

You may have noticed that I limited the use of fractions in this playlist. Don’t worry. I have a lot of great ways to make them simpler in our Solving Equations Playlist. I may also add a fraction extension to this playlist at a later time. So if you’re feeling ready to tackle the biggest f-word in any mathematics class, don’t worry. You won’t be disappointed.
